Residential Care Assistant
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Residential Care Assistant to provide high-quality care and support to residents in a safe, respectful, and person-centered environment. This role involves assisting with daily living activities, promoting independence, and ensuring residentsโ physical, emotional, and social well-being.
Responsibilities
- Assist residents with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Support residents with mobility, including moving, positioning, and using mobility aids.
- Help with meal preparation, serving, and feeding when necessary, while respecting dietary requirements.
- Monitor and record residentsโ health, behavior, and well-being, reporting changes to healthcare professionals or supervisors.
- Provide companionship and emotional support, encouraging social interaction and participation in activities.
- Assist in organizing recreational, cultural, and therapeutic activities to enhance residentsโ quality of life.
- Ensure residentsโ living spaces are clean, safe, and comfortable.
- Follow care plans and work collaboratively with healthcare providers, social workers, and family members.
- Maintain accurate and confidential records in compliance with policies and regulations.
- Respond promptly to emergencies, following established procedures.
Requirements
- Previous experience in residential care, healthcare, or a related support role.
- Understanding of person-centered care principles and safeguarding practices.
- Compassion, empathy, and patience when supporting individuals with diverse needs.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work as part of a team and follow instructions.
- Basic record-keeping and IT skills.
- Physical ability to assist with lifting, moving, and supporting residents.
- Fluency in English; Swedish language skills are an advantage.
Preferred Qualifications
- Relevant care or healthcare-related certification or training.
- Experience supporting elderly residents, people with disabilities, or those with chronic conditions.
- Knowledge of first aid and basic healthcare procedures.
