Travel Operations Manager
We are seeking a strategic and experienced Travel Operations Manager to oversee corporate travel programs and ensure seamless travel experiences for employees, clients, and stakeholders. You will be responsible for managing travel logistics, vendor relationships, policy compliance, and operational efficiency across regional and global travel activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage all aspects of business travel operations, including booking processes, approvals, compliance, and vendor coordination
- Develop, implement, and maintain corporate travel policies to align with company goals, cost-efficiency, and duty of care
- Negotiate and manage contracts with travel service providers (airlines, hotels, car rental agencies, travel agencies, etc.)
- Ensure that all travel arrangements meet safety, comfort, and cost guidelines while maintaining high service quality
- Supervise travel coordinators and support staff, providing training, performance oversight, and process improvement
- Analyze travel data, budgets, and KPIs to identify cost-saving opportunities and optimize travel expenditure
- Implement travel technology platforms and tools to streamline booking, tracking, and reporting processes
- Handle escalations and troubleshoot issues related to travel disruptions, emergencies, or special travel requests
- Stay informed on international travel regulations, insurance policies, and corporate travel trends
- Coordinate group travel logistics for conferences, events, team meetings, and relocations when required
- Liaise with finance and HR departments for travel reimbursements, policy alignment, and employee communication
Qualifications
- Degree in Travel Management, Business Administration, or a related field
- 5+ years of experience in travel management or operations, preferably in a corporate or multinational setting
- Strong knowledge of business travel planning, supplier negotiation, and cost control
- Familiarity with global travel compliance, visa requirements, and risk management
- Experience using travel booking systems, expense management tools, and reporting software
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and work under pressure
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to manage internal and external relationships
- Proficiency in English; knowledge of Swedish or additional languages is a plus
- Analytical mindset with attention to detail and the ability to generate actionable insights from data
