Renewable Energy Consultant
We are seeking a knowledgeable and forward-thinking Renewable Energy Consultant to join our sustainability and energy advisory team. This role involves supporting clients in transitioning to cleaner energy sources, improving energy efficiency, and achieving carbon reduction goals. The ideal candidate combines deep technical expertise with strong analytical and communication skills to drive impactful solutions.
Responsibilities
- Advise clients on renewable energy strategies, including solar, wind, geothermal, biomass, and emerging technologies
- Conduct feasibility studies, technical assessments, and risk evaluations for renewable energy projects
- Support clients in navigating regulatory frameworks, permitting processes, and funding mechanisms
- Develop and model renewable energy solutions based on client needs and site-specific conditions
- Evaluate the financial viability of renewable energy investments and prepare business cases and investment-grade proposals
- Support carbon footprint assessments and identify opportunities for decarbonization across energy supply chains
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate renewable energy into wider sustainability initiatives
- Monitor and analyze trends in renewable energy markets, technologies, and policies
- Prepare technical reports, client presentations, and policy briefings
- Assist clients in achieving sustainability certifications or compliance with voluntary reporting standards (e.g., CDP, GRI, SBTi)
Requirements
- Degree in Renewable Energy, Environmental Engineering, Sustainable Energy Systems, or a related technical field
- Proven experience in renewable energy consulting, project development, or engineering
- In-depth knowledge of renewable energy technologies and infrastructure, including their design, operation, and financial aspects
- Strong understanding of EU and international energy policies, carbon pricing, and regulatory mechanisms
- Experience with energy modelling tools, life cycle analysis, or emissions calculation platforms
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; Swedish proficiency is a plus
- Ability to translate complex technical data into actionable insights for clients and stakeholders
- Skilled in project management, with the ability to deliver high-quality work under deadlines
- Passion for sustainability, innovation, and the clean energy transition
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with corporate sustainability teams or public-sector clients
- Familiarity with energy procurement strategies such as Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) or green certificates
- Background in grid integration, storage systems, or decentralized energy solutions
- Knowledge of ESG reporting, energy performance standards, or climate risk disclosure frameworks
